STT 319 is a 1955 Dennis F8 hose layer originally this appliance was a standard Water Tender going into service in March 1955 at Newton Abbot . In 1968 it was converted to a hose layer and had a Ford D Series engine fitted for economy it served at Exmouth from 1968 - 1973 the at Barnstaple from 1973 - 1982 then it was sold into private ownership. We have only recently purchased this appliance from a van dealer in Bovey Tracey . Bought as a non-runner with engine parts missing but only a slight bit of wood rot restoration was started in April 2009 and is still ongoing . Could this be the only Dennis F8 hose layer in the country ??
